I own a small flock of 31 pedigree jacob ewes, 4 rams. it sounds alot of males but due to my breeding i have got a close flock but i have purchased a new bloodline.
The rams i have used are, Carochy juniper, brother to 2010 st boswells champion. he is a big striking tup which i am now trying to do grandfather - granddaugther matings with. he has improved my livestock leap and bounds
I have also used Inside Hype Dragon Fly. he is the brother to my show champion female which has won me 7 championships, 4 reserve chamionships.
He was born this year and was placed 6th at yorkshire show in a class of 15, and recieved 2 reserve championships. He is very correct and of good size with a good pedigree.
My other ram is another home bred lamb, Inside Hype King Fisher. he is bred from Inside Hype magnifico. I have used him because he is a nice ram lamb but it means i am able to do aunty and nephew matings also my two other rams are too closely related to alot of my females.
My next ram is another lamb which i purchased at skipton, he is a penetrant ram lamb. he is a later born lamb but his pedigree is totally clear of all my females. which i require so i do not get too closely bred.
This year i have travelled further afield but have had amazing results, my shearling ewe has recieved 5 championships, 2 reserve championsghip, and alot of firsts. Two of them mean alot as at ennerdale show it was in any other breed, i was against texel, zwarbles, cheviots and some more. Gosforth show was also really good as there was 5 exhibitors and 30 sheep their which is an excellent turn out.
I have also had a few first tickets with my ram lambs as one is brother to my champion shearling he mostly got the higher placings.
I haven't sponged due to time but the rams went in early and i get what i get given, but hopefull for some smart females and not as many males this year but a smart one or two.
I Occassionally have sheep for sale, so just give me a ring
